Rochester Carburetors. It is generally well known in the carburetor world that the Rochester Q-Jet 4brl carbs are the best carbs out there for 4-wheeling. I like to call them "The Cadillac of Carburetors". If you plan on running a Q-Jet on your Ford or any vehicle then this book is a must have! The Haynes Ford Automatic Transmission Books on how to rebuild Automatic Transmissions are very hard to find. This is one of the few books I could find on rebuilding Ford transmissions.
I wouldn't even try to rebuild my transmission without first reading this book. Unfortunately, the book is out-of-print.

Christopher Jacobs holds a PHD in Electrical Engineering, and after reading this book I felt like I just completed a high-level college course in ignition systems! Trying to figure out what cam shaft to put in your Bronco? If so, then this book can help you do it. This book covers how to choose a cam for particular applications and even has a section on how to inspect your existing cam shaft for wear.
Contains tons of very useful information. Like most Haynes repair manuals, this one is well written and covers most general maintenance and troubleshooting in detail for ''79 Ford Trucks. It's not as detailed as the factory service manuals, but it's a good supplement.
I still refer to it when the information in the factory manuals is too vague or complex for the typical home mechanic. It's the only 3rd party repair manual you'll need for your Bronco. This manual is a must have for all Full-Size Ford trucks, but especially so for Broncos.
Some of the info in the manual is incomplete, and in some cases not even correct, but for the most part it is a must have book. It contains the history of Ford Trucks, a buyers guide, tons of technical info, and a comprehensive performance section. I guess he never took the time to build a "M" engine to see just how good they really are.
Other than the "Anti-M" bias, it's a great book. Ford Pickup Trucks Enthusiast Color. All I can say is that this book has 96 pages of some of the most beautiful Ford Trucks in existence.
I think you'll be as surprised as I was at some of the rare trucks in this book. Here's a new book July I found that sounds really interesting. It consist of pages of stories about Ford Trucks. I have not read it yet, but it sounds like it would be great reading. Special order only. Surprisingly, this book covers 4-Wheeling in Europe! The book also contains goods tips and information on negotiating very rough terrain. I have not yet read this book, but as soon I get back into 4-wheeling I plan to read it.
The book contains information on how to drive on many types of terrain, including snow and ice. The book also puts an emphasis on environmentally-friendly 4-wheeling, which is something I strongly believe in.
